How We Heal: an experiential therapy workshop

So often as we step foot into our healing, we enter a counselors office sure that it is gonna be all about us, whats wrong with us, how to “fix us”, etc. Then, if we stay long enough, we begin to recognize none of our wounds exist in isolation. Instead we see that the brokenness of others is intricately woven into our own.

We suffer in isolation and we heal in community. The very place we are usually wounded is indeed the forum where we will heal as well. In a group dynamic we truly live out our wounds which in turn usually continues to perpetuate the lies we believe. What if we used community to heal instead?

Through this experiential therapy workshop we will allow what’s natural to occur. We will invite the Gospel’s perspective of community and healing. We will show up as honest and authentic as we can be, and we will trust God’s sovereignty to hand select those who will participate in our healing and us in theirs.

We all need help healing and we get to de-stigmatize therapy and enter into this workshop practicing a new way. Believe it or not we are all already seeking this within our broken rhythms, amongst our current family/community or lack there of…So lets just do this together instead. Let’s heal together!

What is Experiential Therapy?

Experiential therapy is an action oriented, multi level therapeutic approach to healing. What this means in simpler terms is that we are going to use social encounters and playful practices to move the unconscious to the conscious so that we can truly address our wounds and heal the deeper things of the soul.
